Well you are in advance.
May I advice you don't wait in lobby : go to your team screen and wait for your opponnent to appear online. Then when he is highlighted online just press invite button.
If you are invited while in lobby (Most people do not visit the lobby nor do they know it does exist) you can notice a point that blink on the bottom right of the screen.
